Thankfully we have an extended service contract

It has already repaid our premium, then last week the ESC approved replacing all 3 dump valves. That did not stop the black tank leaking. Monday Camping World called me to say they found the problem, crack in bottom of black tank. This was a long-term issue, as the compartment underneath is severely rusted.
CW called the ESC, explained what they found, the ESC inspector approved replacing the black tank and remediating the corrosion. Labor time will be 16 hrs. + cost of new black tank. total cost is estimated at $3,000 (deductible is $50) because of the tank location.
Our Good Sam ESC was money well-spent! They said I may purchase a final 3 yr ESC on our MH. They have extended their time period for coverage to 18 yr-old RV.

Glad to hear it! Our contract-- although not GS-- has also proven to be a wise move.

Questions: Whose contract is it? I presume GS is just the broker. Does your contract have Consequential Damage? Interesting that they will pay for the water damage.

The 18 y/o thing. Have they extended the coverage window to 18, or the contract start deadline to 18?

I need to renew my contract this summer. Have been very pleased, but still shopping. Thanks.

Wow, now that is a cost no one want to have. Great contract, and well worth while.

I've heard of the year extensions, but then you might run into a mileage restriction on an older coach. Our ESP has saved us a lot over the 6yrs. of having it. It was well worth the upfront cost.

Are they rust proofing the whole chassis? I would be really concerned about the rust everywhere else....the cancer never stops. I have already done a Salt-Away rinse and am now going to spray on Fluid Film...but my chassis has very little rust to start with.

JFXG-Right, GS is an independent insurance agency. The actual guarantor is Crossroads RV. I did purchase the consequential damage rider.
Interesting enough, all my covered claims have been for the coach portion of our MH but two, one was for the Wabco compressed air plastic purge valve being broken by (I assume) a rock, the other was for a cracked front hubcap (forget the brand) for the wet hubs.
ramjets, the 18 yr limit is an extension of my present ESC. The mileage limit (I think, is 82K) I'm a long way below that @ 43K.
motor7, they will use POR15 or similar product on that rusted compartment only because it is totally enclosed in the underbelly. The frame and underneath side appears sound, with nominal rust expected on a 17 yr old MH.

The black tank never leaked when purchased in '13, nor until last summer when I used a home-made wand to flush the black tank with high-pressure (110psi) water. I could see dried TP on the tank floor, it wasn't bothering anything, but my OCD wanted it gone.
