Been there done that(camping), RV'n is better . Don't forget the AC/heat and home cooked food . We don't call it camping, we call it traveling with our house.

Since I dont do this lifestyle to suit them, I dont really care what their idea of camping is or isnt. I worked hard for my way of "camping" and how I camp is for my fun, relaxation, aggravation and all else. I spend my money, well me and the government, and those types can spend theirs. But sleeping in a bed that I know is clean, showering in a clean shower and having the ability to fix the meals I like, in comfort, mean a great deal to me. Each to his/her own.

Tents are like tattoos. It's great when you are buff and 21, but once you get to be 50 and not so buff...well, you get what I mean

Yea, I don't think I would want to motel it now in Phoenix, Heard from sister in law
they are requiring brand new furn just to rent an apt. Guess the bed bugs are out
of control. I'll stay in the MH too.

In the last couple of years, DW and I have noticed that the "that's not camping" comments have gotten ruder and confrontational. So much so that we are starting to avoid any areas where other larger rvs are not nearby. Last summer someone put a couple of obscene bumper stickers on the back of the motorhome that basically said we were destroying the planet with our rv. Took a lot of work to get the glue off the paint. Maybe we have just been unlucky or maybe the "class warfare" politics is affecting people. Either way we have become much more aware of who is nearby.

The "earth muffins" suffer from their own brand of reverse elitism. I think it's mostly a case of someone wanting what you have without having to work for it.

You beat me to it. If I want to go camping I will break out the backpack. When in an RV I am RVing...
I did enough roughing it in my younger years.

As long as I can have a campfire and cook my food outdoors if I please: IT'S CAMPING to me.
I could not care less when I hear comments by those that feel I'm not camping....Sooo bad for them sooo good for me! lol!
We tented for well over 25 years before we started RVing. My wife started to refuse to sleep in a tent anymore....I had to move up and off the ground.
And glad we did.

So many of our liberties are under attack by the progressives. If I want to pay for my rig and get poor gas mileage, that's my business. Just sayin. Besides, I have a diabetic daughter with food allergies. It's much easier cooking myself.

I've never heard that from other campers, regardless of how they camp.
I've heard it from nieghbors, but they all camp at the marriot
