the bunk over the driver

The bunk over the driver is useless to me at the moment. When I recently purchased my 2009 Winnebago Chalet 24vr I failed to notice that the two mattress pieces did not match. There is no way anyone could use them to sleep up there, IF they could get up there! No ladder!

I've been online and made a few calls and have found the ladder. But, I'm having no luck finding the mattress, to which I think the ladder connects.

Anybody know how I can find a photo of what the ladder would look like if it was in place? Anybody have any suggestions of where to get the mattress?

I was thinking of just getting some memory foam and using it, but one piece of the mattress looks like something (the ladder?) attaches to it.

Not sure if this helps, it doesn't show the ladder, but it does show the matresses.

You can always contact Winnebago. Winnebago Industries No doubt they will need the coach VIN.

Ramblin--that is the mattress I have, with those little "thingys"--does the ladder attach to that? If not, what are they for?

doesnt have to be a special mattress. Friend of mine used 2 full sized mattress toppers in a mattress encasement. Cost him all of $65 as the previous one has mildew and mold.
You can get those home folding stools with 3 steps to get up there. Unathletic types generally dont bunk there.

Yes the ladder connects to those points. I owned a Chalet with the same configuration.

Go to Lowe's, Home Depot or Walmart and pick up a folding 3-step ladder. It is much easier to climb than a ladder and still folds flat. We completely removed the foam pad they called a "mattress" from the cab-over area and added a 6 inch memory foam mattress. We covered the gap with a piece of wood (you know, that fold up piece so you don't hit your head when getting to the front seats). When we are using the bed, the folding step ladder is open on the floor, otherwise it is folded and laid on top of the mattress.

If its for the kids mine use the chairs to climb up on. As for the mattress go buy a mattress pad (on line) and put on top. The ladder or stools may get in the way.
