This has actually happened to us 3 times. Here is the mystery.
We have a 45' with a rear bath. On three seperate occassions with 3 different rolls of tp this is what we find. The whole roll is completely unwound and laying on the floor!
How and why does this happen? It was a new roll, and 2 partials. We don't subscibe to that cardboard and sandpaper thing and have nice soft 2 ply.

IMHO, your roll is placed over a heat vent; the air flow thru the the vent simply unrolls the roll!

or, perhaps the bouncing vibration in rear of coach could be the culprit
try a small piece of scotch tape to secure the end before traveling.

Do either Thor or Casey look guilty when you arrive at your destination?

Our blind PBGV can find a roll of TP no matter where it is. He grabs the end and drags it down the hall and under the bed! I have moved the TP holders higher up the walls and he still finds a way to grab the end.

In our travel trailer, the vibration of the travel caused the roll to unroll. The simplest fix was to squeeze the roll so it was no longer circular, but oval. In the house, the cats used to unroll it, so we just put it up out of their reach.
There is an older type of holder available still in a few places, which has a curved plate which lays on top of the roll. This might cure both causes, vibration unrolling and animal unrolling. I got one, but never got around to installing it in the trailer so can't say how well it works.

My money is on the Yorkie.
Seriously, John66 has a good idea about squeezing the roll so the core is oval. The space where we store our TP is a little too small for the rolls and they automatically get squeezed when we close the cupboard door. Never have a problem with the TP unrolling.

If you don't like squeezing, just put a large rubber band on the toilet paper rod next the roll. When traveling just pull the band over the roll until your destination and slide back over to the holder rod. Works great for the paper towel holder also. The roll continues to roll smoothly this way.
Best,

Our TP stays put but the paper towels unroll so I just take a clothes pin and clip on the edge of the roll. Works great. Should work for TP also.

No heat vents on the floor. Dogs are with us while traveling and cannot get into the rear bath. Never happens in the front bath. We had a Rottie that ATE the tp, core and all. He wiped at the same time he pooped!
Best solution seems to be crushing the core slightly. We'll try that and see what happens.

We used to have that proplem with the paper towels. Cured it by using a straight hat pin pushed into rool while traveling.
