Per the June issue of the FMCA magazine, the J has all RV Real Value Card Members associated with FMCA (card number begins with 77) starting at the first level of their discount program. This is for June, July and August. The bottom line is that without spending any $s in the store, FMCA linked cards will receive 3 cents off per gallon of gas, 1 cent off per gallon of diesel and 3 cents of per gallon of propane.

In addition these members will receive 4 e-coupons each month for 20% off in the J restaurants and delis. There is no physical coupon. When you make a purchase have the cashier swipe your membership card first. You will receive the 20% discount up to 4 times each month for the three months mentioned above.

On edit, the advertisement is on page 32.

I received my Flying J card when I joined FMCA. Mine starts with 79. I guess I am not included?

Hi Wayne,
Call the J at 888-438-3537. You'll need to listen to the VRU and push the right choices to get to the person who knows. As of this afternoon, she told me FMCA members start 77. If for any reason your card is not linked to FMCA, the person who answers is supose to be able to correct this.

Wow, one cent off per gallon of diesel! I would have saved $1.18 off my $543 fill-up yesterday!!

Yes Brigadoon it is amazing how marketing can change our perception of things. All sarcasm aside, Flying J is normally my first choice for fuel. If they will give me a penny back, I'll take it!

My Shell Citi card gives me 5% off as a next month credit. At gas prices hovering near $4.00, this is around $0.20. Still not great, but much better than the J. Their gas pumps are not located conveniently for me. Too close to their store.

I use the Flying J fairly often, but I always go to the truck pumps for my fuel.

One of the advantages of the RV Value card is paying the cash price, when using a credit card. The J doesn't market this benefit very well, but for me, it is around 6 cents per gallon. The amount does vary, but on average 6 cents is close.

Magoo, my AMEX card gives 5% cash rebate on fuel purchases. There is no limit to the AMEX rebate. I can buy fuel any place I choose.

Maybe I need the AMEX card. One cent off, cash price plus the 5% AMEX rebate. Now we're talking!

Ok all,

Here is how hopefully I get them. Price Costco partnered with American Express, and I have an executive membership. I get some discounts for purchases nationwide regardless where it's purched, I pay the bill off every month, so no interest charges. At the end of the year, I get a rebate check, see the link provided. Then I am a Flying J RV club member, so get the discount for fuel purchases. Even if they charge me a Credit card surcharge, I still come out ahead because of the credit card rebate, and by not paying interest on the card. Plus, I get another rebate check, because of the business membership for Costco, this year it worked out between the two for almost 300 bucks. Next year it will be higher because of the gas price alone, yeah I have to spend it in costco, ok, that works out, because I do most of my large purchase shopping at Costco anyway.

FYI
You don't have to spend your rebate checks at Costco, you just have to cash them there.

My flying j card starts with 77. It also says Family Motor Coach on the face of the card.
