Sorry SRT to hear your leaving the group. Hope all will get better.
I agree with the other posters. I have been trying to sell my 64 caddie and 95% of the people only want to know what I want for it. Even at a stop light.
I ignore most of them.
The only way I would take a check is @ the bank with the buyer with me.
Hope you let us know how your sale proceeds.
Tim

SRT,

I'm sorry about your medical problems forcing you to sell your rig. I hope your selling process goes quickly & smoothly. And for heaven's sake, get a deposit and if you don't, do NOT mention it here.

When selling anything of value this costly, sellers need to CYTA !
Sellers need a written sales agreement that both seller and buyer signs. This Bill of sale needs to include a disclaimer that states without question that the buyer is purchasing with no warranty.
Seller needs to state that when the vehicle leaves your possesion it is the buyers responseability to insure and license and register according to their state law.
If a buyer asks for a bill of sale for less than they paid it is the seller that will suffer for falseifying the title.
Far more to protecting the seller than just the money aspect of the sale.

Money talks and you don't hold anything for anyone and walk away from potential customers. They will not think twice about never calling to say they changed their minds.

Do as salvation army does...

Make sure money changes hands then hand title but NOT THE KEYS!!!

Have then go to dmv and transfer title before it leaves.

Only way to be sure you are out of worry from accidents on their part.

Cash talks and BS walks. Get a deposit, non-refundable with a date it expires. If they do not come through you cover your hassles and relisting fees. Agree that wire transfer or cashier's check at the bank and seeing the bank issue it, for the balance.

I have my riding helmet on and my big puffy jacket so pummel away but there are a few honest "follow through with what they say they will do people" left. We held it and they bought it.

Our coach just rolled out of the drive with it's new family.

And we have an official bank check and a big pile of cash.
