The most popular perks are longer stays and park-to-park (can go direct form one TT park to another). Some people also like longer range advance reservations. I don't know what Basic Elite already has re those things, nor are they useful to all people.

I didn't think that sort of thing was negotiable either, but it never hurts to try.

Is there a menu of available features of TTN contracts? We have one that allows 14 days in, with 7 days out. Not sure about how far out we can reserve, but I think it is 90 days.

I would like to get rid of the 7 days out clause, so we could go from campground to campground now and then.

Just wondering if there is someplace online to see what options are available. We might have to talk to a rep from TTN, and face the dreaded sales pitch.

I have an Alliance membership that provides what you are looking for but I don't think they offer it any longer. Look for a used one, probably many available.

My only advice when dealing with TT is to read the fine print very carefully.

I also have the nice perks of an old Alliance contract - they came with all the goodies. May be cheaper to buy one of those on the resale market than to pay the upgrade price for an Elite package. Then sell your old membership. Some contracts had restrictions on adding/replacing memberships, though, so check your contract or ask Member Services.

Alliance contracts have two week stays, park-to-park, and a 120 day reservation window. Usually readily available on the resale market.

I found a ton of info on this on a great blog RVLove.com. Look for Julie's extensive description of the Thousand Trails system and the options out there.

Good stuff!

Actually, the Alliance agreement states that the reservation window is 30 days longer than the window offered in any other contract. So, when TT offers a 120 day window then ours automatically jumps out to 150 days.
