You didnt, but the OP did... In fact, the OP's assertions cannot be verified anywhere I can find...

Communities along the SoCal coast are awash in "Urban Campers" living in RV's and parking on city streets. Of course some are way over the line - harassing locals...dumping their tanks into the gutter...so the municipalities can't be blamed for taking measures to reverse this trend.

And what is their "logic" (justification) for such a policy. State law likely says you are legal up to 13'6" (may be only 12'6" on a motor home. )

How can they ticket an 8'er when it's legal by the state vehicle code?
Some states allow municipalities to add certain restrictions within their jurisdictional boundaries by municipal ordinance. The limits probably don't apply to state highways or other state-funded roadways in the city, just the municipal streets.

The regulation is about parking large vehicles within the city, which is well within the provenance of the city.

This is what it's about, think about having a house across the street form the ocean where cars can park to be on the beach for the day.
Then one morning you look out your front window to look at the ocean
and theirs an rv parked there, and stays there for a week because no
law said he can't.
these people use your yard for a bathroom and dump there thrash,
that is why the law was made.

It sold as a safety law.. They did not want any large vehicle to be park at an intersection blocking the view of cross traffic.. What it was really for, you have already read.

PA just tells everyone they can not park at a intersection. I would think it is just as hard to see around a 6' tall vehicle as a 8' tall vehicle if you are in a little car.

§ 3353. Prohibitions in specified places.
(a) General rule.--Except when necessary to avoid conflict
with other traffic or to protect the safety of any person or
vehicle or in compliance with law or the directions of a police
officer or official traffic-control device, no person shall:
*
*
*
(2) Stand or park a vehicle:
(i) In front of a public or private driveway.
(ii) Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
(iii) Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an
intersection.
(iv) Within 30 feet upon the approach to any
flashing signal, stop sign, yield sign or traffic-control
signal located at the site of a roadway.

Reading this thread, I find that the phrase "moderator edit" is irv2 speak for the common English seven letter word for anus.

It's OK.
We real Californians are secure in the fact that we live in an extremely desirable place and that many folks just don't get it. The smart people realize the beauty and character of all of our great country. The not so smart have to resort to lame comments. The really ignorant ones have to use profane language to express themselves.

My father always said there were two kinds of people in this country... those that lived in California and those that were angry they didn't.

Interesting. My father( who passed 28 years ago today) said the same thing about NYC.
