Time for new batteries

I am thinking of changing out the two 12v house batteries and the one engine battery. Any thoughts?

Trojan Battery Company for batteries. Shouldn't be hard to find a dealer. I would go to two six volt if you can. Biggest that you can put in, or what the wallet will allow, even replace the 12 volt with a true deep-cycle will do amazing things.

Then put a battery water system on and use it. Best thing I ever did.

As for the chassis battery your choice.

I just bought 2 Group 74 12V Deep Cycle batteries from Costco for $79 each. They are made by Interstate. 1 year warranty.

Before you remove your existing batteries, take a couple of good photos for reference when you go to install the new ones.

Best is look at your budget. Then within that budget what is best for YOUR RVing. Now when I had a DP I went with two of the biggest cranking rated batteries and four 6 volt for the house, T105's, and if a problem with either set I could disconnect one crank or two T105's to still be able to operate. Now with a class C I get again the biggest rated start battery that will fit, in my case an Interstate. As for the house the coach came to me with the two larger sized Interstate deep cycle combo's and are working well.
That all said I would stay with the Inerstate cranking battery as a brand they have served me well over the years. Now if or when I replace the house batteries I would look at the larger 12 volt Trojan DEEP CYCLE batteries, that way if one goes bad I'm still OK. And if room and budget allow I would look at the 150 amp hour ones as you would have more usable than the 6 volts. But the cost $210 each is a budget burner.

As a follow up to my earlier post, I forgot to mention that the batteries were low on water when I purchased them. The top of the plates weren't exposed but they did drink some considerable water to get them to top off. Costco won't install the batteries either.

I have to disagree about the battery watering system. Mine malfunctioned, and I posted about it here:

My main problem with the Pro-Fill is that can't know if cells aren't getting watered properly unless you take the caps off, and the whole point behind the system is not having to take the caps off.

I removed all the tubing and am using the Pro-Fill caps and watering manually. I'm happy to report that I still have no corrosion after a year, so maybe the caps alone are the secret to eliminating corrosion...so far.

If I decide to go sealed battery or AGM will I have to worry about my inverter/ charger or do they work with all batterys?

I would stay away from Exide's I have had my 2 house batteries tops come loose. Leaked onto the fiberglass and stained it. They replaced them but did nothing about the staining.
I plan on priming and repaint. and hope it covers the black stains
