Tipping
Do you tip your camp ground escort (the person who takes you to the site and shows you where the hookups are located)?

No. They're getting paid to do the job.

No, I'd never thought of doing so.

Nope, I don't tip my mailman either. Tipping everyone has gotten out of control.

Nope. Most of the time they annoy me. Some even seem to have personally dealt with a large rig - I'd rather just scout the route myself.

No, never thought about it. As a camphost volunteer, I led many RV's to their camp site and was never offered or expected a tip.
Got me thinking though!
I do manage a christmas tree lot every year and after taking a tree to a vehicle and tying it down on the roof, it is nice to turn around and get a $5 tip.

I think it depends and would say escort alone is part of the job. If you ask for assistance backing or hooking up then that should be considered as someone providing a service.

NO! X9. I do not want outside help parking, if they cause you to damage your RV from incorrect directions, they nor the RV park are responsible.for any damage. Why would anyone put themselves and their RV in that situation?

I have quit tipping unless the service is really good. I'm even cutting back at a restaurant. Just returned from a trip to New Zealand. Where the price on the menu includes the food, tip and tax. Most other countries are the same.
I agree it is way out of hand here.

Tips
We only tip when we are sure that the service person is receiving minimum wage (ie) waitress/waiter at a small restaurant.
Never have we felt obliged to offer a tip a person directing us to a spot or, for that matter, writing us a traffic ticket never happens LOL...
We also look at the menu before we eat, and if it says that a tip is mandatory and included in the price, we gracefully excuse ourselves and go somewhere else.
Cheers! No tip required

Tipping has become a means for owners to get customers to help pay salaries. It is no longer a reward for outstanding service but simply an expected bonus for service, whether good or bad. As was mentioned, they are already paid for doing the task, tipping is not required.
