Tips on Selling an RV

What are some tips on how to market your RV. We've been trying to sell our rv for quite some time and we've had no bites. We have it listed on this forum, another forum, Craiglist, several FB rv/camping groups and local classifieds... we have lowered the price... we have pictures...

The only thing that I can think of is its either the price or the truck that you have to have to tow it with...

Just wondered if you all have any tips?

Thank you!

RVTrader.com and RVT.com seem to be the most popular paid sites.

Craigslist for local contacts and is free.

Good luck.

Post a link to your ad (or ads) if you want less general feedback.

Our Community Rules allow a brief mention of the RV and a link to an ad in our classifieds only .

Here's a link to it. Good luck.

I just looked at your ad here on this forum and it looks good.
Perhaps more pictures, weight, and original purchase price might generate more interest.

Good luck selling your 5th wheel.

Good luck.

RVTrader.com has a deal where you pay a one-time price and run it until it sells. They allow a lot of pics with that deal!

The problem is the price. You can buy a new one for 62k

I think you have hit the nail on the head. I found a couple others and the highest list used price was $49,995. I did see a new 2014 for $82K, but that looked like an aberration. OP, you might want to look around the internet to see what they are selling for in other places. You are competing for buyers nation-wide

RVTrader also hits high on a google search. I found our used coach on RVTrader. Lots of pics and even a video link (youtube hosted video) were helpful in our search as we were in GA, and the coach for sale in PA. We eventually flew up and bought the coach. The pics were helpful in making sure we knew condition. Craigslist is good also, but harder to search on a more regional or nationwide basis.

I think the issue with a lot of coaches we browsed on-line were priced too high. Depreciation is real and huge the minute you take a new RV off the sales lot. I bought used to take advantage of that same fact. From a buyers perspective, a new RV may be easier to finance vs. private sale. Buyers may also feel more comfortable with buying local thinking it might help with service after sale. So I think potential buyers need a fair price to overcome a lot of these issues.

Another consideration, your interaction with buyers. We were leery of sellers that either didn't know their coach, its systems, maintenance records, or seemed to be too tight with information. As a buyer, I didn't' want to buy someone else's problems or mistakes. I wanted an honest seller and someone I felt I could somewhat trust.

Good luck. Hope you find someone soon.

Also, what NOT to do. I recently sold a class a for my mom, and got tons of calls from services saying we have buyers for your rv in your area, offering to provide buyers for a fee. RIPOFF!!!

Here in the Salt Lake City area we have KSL.com, a website for a broadcast company. Their classifieds are free and sooooo much better than anything Craigslist ever tried to do. I researched the price, lowered the price once and showed it a lot. It was already clean and well kept, so it showed quite well. Sold in about a month for 88% of asking. Wife's idea, we kept clean towels on the racks, plastic flowers on the table, bed made, etc. Same stuff you see at the rv shows. Water system full, refer on and cold, always opened it up before we showed it so it was a comfortable temp.
