Tire Cover Cleaning

I have a set of Adco white vinyl tire covers with the felt-like lining. Unfortunately they're not very white any more. I e-mailed Adco about cleaning suggestions but haven't seen a reply yet. Has anyone on this forum cleaned their tire covers and what did they use? By any chance are they machine washable or will that damage the lining?

Tire covers are made from vinyl. You could try an all-purpose spray cleaner like Fantastik or use RV awning cleaner.

Chemicals leaching out of the tire can stain the cover. I put a plastic bag over the tire before putting the cover on. If this is the condition with your cover, you might try an all-purpose cleaner with bleach.

I just scrub the dickens out of them. They get cleaner but after a couple years there is only so much you can do with them (mildew stains won't always come out) but spend the bucks for new if you really want them to sparkle. One set on a smaller RV ended up stained through from the tires but that was probably as much from using the now dreaded Armor All. Probably the much loved .303 will do the same as well but without the tire deterioration.
