I have the TireMinder installed and have almost 3000 miles on it so far. Mine has been on for 6 months now and the batteries are still good. I've had one false alarm due to pressure loss from a cooling tire, but otherwise it's been problem free. Haven't needed to contact CS. YMMV.

I posted earlier in this thread (August 2012) and since then we have taken a 4000 mile trip out west. On this trip the alarm went off twice, both times in a torrential downpour, a rapid cooling situation.
The ONLY time I ever had a blowout was in a torrential downpour, years ago. What good is a TPMS system that alarms whenever there is a downpour and a rapid cooling situation?
I consider it an expensive toy and nothing more. Save your money.

I disagree with the statement that a TPMS is just an expensive toy. There have been many situations where it has saved the coach owner more money than what that expensive toy had originally cost them.

What I do agree with you on is the fact that some TPMS's will give false alarms due to the rapid cooling or temperature loss. That is a royal pain in the ass and makes using the device more nerve racking and worrisome than NOT using it. I believe that measuring the temperature of the rubber tire on the end of any tire valve stem is a pretty lame attempt anyway.

I find that using an IR guided laser temperature gun pointed at the area of the sidewall a few inches below where the tread and sidewall meet is a FAR better and more accurate measurement of the actual tire temp. Plus while you are there, you can shoot the wheel or hub to see if you are losing a wheel bearing or not. This is the procedure that I would recommend to everyone.

I will NOT own any TPMS where it is measuring temperature at the end of the valve stem period.

I have had TireMinder on my RV for about 6 months now and I got a Sensor Error so I took the sensor off and noticed the battery had leaked (exploded) causing the sensor to become bad. I called CS and told them what happened and they are sending a new sensor out today along with extra replacement batteries! To me that is great customer service. Sorry for resurrecting an old post but maybe the company has gotten better since the earlier days.

I have used the system for 2 years+ and really like it. My experience with the company's customer service is excellent.

I had to install a repeater to relay the information from the toad, consistently. Easy to install, and it does the job.

We had both duals on one side fail, once, before getting the Tire Minder. Not knowing that one tire had gone flat cost us the price of two tires. A rare false alarm is better than no information, IMO. We put 12,000 miles on our rig, last year. The peace of mind this system gives is well worth the cost.

I finally just took the sucker off . . . . what a pain, the thing never worked like stupid me thought it would . . . does anyone know of a quality pressure gage system that actually works ?

All I can do is give you my experience.

Since I've had this system, it has alerted me five or six times about tires that were losing pressure from nails or tread separation. In every case I was able to pull off the road and get the tire changed before any blowouts.

I never had any false alarms. This system is based on actual tire pressure. If tire pressure drops below desired set levels, it will let me know immediately. If a tire loses pressure because it's cooling off in the rain, it won't alarm unless the actual pressure falls below the desired level. This has never happened. This is what I want and need.

The batteries in this system are not user-replaceable. Instead, when they wear out, the old sensors are returned to Pressure Pro. For $35 each, new sensors are sent back with the latest technology, batteries, etc. My 2006 system's batteries lasted until now (2014), and just yesterday I sent in my original sensors for replacement.

I've been very happy with this system so far.

My system worked great monitoring 10 tires my only problem was the batteries quitting after 3 years and $25 a pop to replace them.

I had a tireminder with extender unit. I would get false alarms but we dealt with it . Until we had someone pull up next to us and beep their horn to tell us we had a blow out... system never alarmed... No answer as to why it didn't alarm.. when we changed the tire I checked the sensor.. all was well and the system alarmed if I took the sensor off. No faith in the system and now the battery in the monitor is dead... not replaceable.. so system is garbage... looking for suggestions for a good reliable system

I google the battery number and buy them from Japan for 50-60 cents apiece with free shipping. Automatically change them every TWO years and no problems after 7 years..
PS - They are installed 100% of the time.

well i had a cheap set from ebay ,and 6 months later the alarm went off and the tire on the toad had a nail in it , so it saved a real problem . the cost of the unit,35.00 saved me a lot of money and time

Have had our tire minder system about 4 years get false alarms every trip. This trip got a reading that my toad tire pressure dropped to 29 PSI. Six hours into my trip and the funny thing I was not pulling the toad? I never trust it before every trip I have to one by one take the sensor off just to verify the unit even sees the sensor because you cannot tell. Like I said no toad but the unit says it's there. Ugg!
