For a 38ft or longer coach, especially with sensors on toad wheels, a repeater is probably needed. If you don't use a repeater, most likely you will experience that not always but sometmes you will see "no signal" on your TPMS display.
The ideal place for the repeater is at or near the mid point between the farthest sensor on your toad and the display in your cockpit. The repeater does only one thing - relays the signals.
You should avoid placing it inside a metal enclosed space where signals are being shielded/blocked, such as battery bay (probably only door isn't metal).
My bathroom is at a forward place outside the bedroom. I installed my repeater there in a small side cabinet behind the Fantastic switch (12v is readily available there). It has been working great for 6 years.
