Before you throw the baby out with the bath water consider there are tens of thousands of valve extender out there in use. Installation and maintenance issues are no reason to eliminate their use.

A good friend is visiting from cold Kansas at my place in Florida. He uses a tire monitoring system and says it saved him twice. He is so sure it is a must have that he bought me one.

It takes longer to read the instructions than it does to install. The monitor will fit in your pocket literally but comes with a mount or you can use Velcro to attach it almost anywhere., It shows tire temp and pressure as well as monitoring for leaks fast or slow. I unscrewed one from the valve stem to simulate a loss of air and the monitor let me know instantly. There are many models out there but here is what he bought me.
