He said he has a GAWR 5,500# front axle, and a GAWR 11,000# rear axle. He is not going to have more than a 16,500# GVWR.

Once loaded I will see if I need to adjust it again. If does not take much to go from the 16500 lbs dry weight to the 20000 lbs max weight. Especially when the water tank adds almost 700 lbs if you run with it full. Add people, food, etc and it adds quickly.


So that made me conclude he thinks its the dry weigt and not the maximum allowed weight.

But lets wait for the answer of TS , before we fill this topic with speculations.

I believe the OP is confused with his weights and allowances. Here is a http://media.rvusa.com/library/Fleetwood1999_sw_b.pdf which shows a 34L on a Chevrolet with a 16,500# GVWR and a 20,000# GCWR, and the same axle ratings.
