If this was my transaction I would cancel the entire deal, find another RV dealer and perhaps even another maker. After all this is not the only Motorhome on planet earth!....Money talks....take a walk!.....I often wonder why anyone would tolerate such confusion and abuse from any RV dealership!
You are the customer and the dealership should be bending over backwards to make this transaction as smooth as possible....time has long passed for you to cut and run!!!
We were too far into the deal to pull out. I know exactly what you are saying.
My arguments are turning toward Forest River. If they are not recognizing Coachmen as a manufacturer, then Coachmen ceases to exist. If Encounter is the manufacturer then they have a lot of advertising to change. NADA recognizes Coachmen by Forest River, not Encounter or Encounter by Forest River.
Yes, the dealer should have gone to Forest River and addressed this issue. However, if it takes 8 weeks to change an MSO, then their inventory is locked, can't sell a thing until new MSO's start showing up. They didn't want that. They did whatever they had to get me what I thought was the correct way, be it right or wrong. When I did get plates the licence bureau put Coachmen in the Make field, not the Make Description field. A mess but it all worked out.
