To bra or not to bra that is the question?

I am curious as a new owner of an RV that came with a leather type bra,whether it is a good idea to use it and what to do if it gets wet? I also would think that dirt would work it's way behind the bra and then act like sandpaper and rub the paint off. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I found it interesting that the bra was almost new looking. Also the headlight plastic on it is pretty discolored and with older headlights I can hardly see at night. Considered just cutting the plastic out of there. Thanks

Years ago, I owned a sports car, and bought a leather bra for it. And I was very careful to not let it get wet, keep it clean, and all those things. It still buffed and marred the paint, over an extended period.

My in laws bought a used motorhome last year, the gel coat had a zillion cracks on the front cap. I would guess, next to impossible, if not very expensive to repair. The solution, was a custom made bra. Looks much better, and lots cheaper than repair.

I've got cursed Diamond Shield on my coach. As it finally deteriorates, I will look hard at a bra.

Suggest you do a forum search on the subject. There is a lot of great first hand experience and knowledge shared on posts re bra usage, installation, etc. Just a thought....

I had one on an 01 Winnebago. I unsnapped it each day and shook it out and wiped off the fiberglass underneath it. I never had any issues .

We have aged and becoming rapidly more ugly 3M film on front. So not too worried about damaging anything! We'd plan to get a paint job on our coach in 2016, but higher Health Insurance costs consumed over the last two-three years, has consumed enough of our retirement budget contingency funds, that until I reach 65 (Wife is 5 1/2 years younger.) in early 2018, we're cutting expenses in other areas. So a hit to the paint company we had planned to work with, and a few more years of ugly front end.

A bra, could be an alternative to the ugly driving front end!

I prefer bra less unless you are trying to cover up some imperfect, also they are not made to wear all the time just during driving.

I have seen some that are on for that purpose. A nice nose mitten beats 3M any time!

I've seen were some folks have put X Line pickup bed liner on the front. It comes in colors as well. I've got it in the bed of my toad -pickup. It is some tough stuff, and looks like new after 6 years in my truck.

Every time we get a motorhome with a bra for a trade in, it has caused extensive paint damage. That's enough for me not to use/want one.
