Just wanted to see if any of you use toasters or toaster ovens? AGAIN, I an NEW to RVing and have heard that they are a NO NO. Can anyone offer some information?

We used both. Wonder who said they're a no no ? They basically use the same amps as a lot of other appliances .

I am getting a 50 amp toy hauler. All of the service guys said stay away from them. But with a microwave convection oven, I was wondering why they were so taboo.

I used them when I had 30 amp. Of course you have to use them carefully when on 30 amp and not overload but you have to do the same when operating a hair dryer or coffee pot. Never worried about it when we got a 50 amp MH.

Lol, we run both at the same time. I unplug when not in use. Wonder why? did you get that from the sales person?

Been using one for years, can't imagine why you shouldn't.
Yes, you do have to watch the loads since your 120 outlets
are usually on a GFI and are all on the same circuit,
and are typically on a 15 amp breaker, even in a 50 amp set up.

We use a small 2 slice toaster in our 30 amp TT on 110 vac and have even used it on our 1100 watt inverter. No problem with doing it on either.

We've used both toaster and toaster oven on 30 and 50 amp service. The toaster at my house runs on a 20 amp circuit with lots of other stuff on it so what's the big deal?

Sage advice like this just lends credence to what a lot of us already take for granted. You can't trust a single word coming from a dealer.....

we have a toaster. last two times we went camping i forgot we had one. ( its in the cabinet ) toasted eng muffins on the fire. i seen it when we were putting things away.

Welcome to the greatest RV forum. Well, so far not one negative.

I would miss BLT's. Been doing it for many many years. I am an electronic tech working in the 12 volt world of everything with wheels.

Toasters and anything that needs to heat an electric element can max out a circuit quickly so you need to learn what your outlets will handle.

We use a toaster oven every time we are out, but when we are making breakfast or cooking otherwise, we really aren't running anything else. Toast or biscuits mostly. We debated a toaster or a toaster oven and decided the oven would be much more versatile.
