Tow Vehicle Tires

Michelin LTX ($1330/set, 50,000 mile warranty) or Cooper Discoverer ($1119/set, 55,000 mile warramty).
Both have a $70 rebate at Discount Tire right now. Both have the same weight rating.

Do you think the Michelins are worth the extra cash?

The Michelins are awesome highway tires. I've never owned a Cooper product so take it FWIW.

I have owned both and they are both great but if I was buying a set today, it would be Michelin. We had a set of Michelin's on a Honda Ridgeline and got a little over 100K miles on them. Only changed them at the time because of Dry-Rot cracks. Air pressure and rotation is the key to long mileage.

Check with your local Ford Quick Lane Dealer.

I understand they have a $5.00 over cost sale going on till 11-12-2017.

$70.00 rebate from Michelen and $70.00 rebate from Ford if you use their credit card.

Just priced a set of Michlen LTX Highway tread LT 275/70R 18" for customer that stores his 5er with me.

$1012.16 less rebates noted above.

I have Michelins on my TV and at about 20,000 mile, 13,000+ towing, have gone from the original 13.5 32nds to 10.5. The now traded Ford Fusion had 80K and the Michelin tires were at about 40%good. The only Coopers were on a '94 T-Bird and have to say they were nothing I would brag about but that's probably not a good comparison vs an LT tire

No. I suspect the extra cost is primarily for advertising to convince you they have a better tire.

Coopers are as good as any and better than many. Save the $200 for something else that needs care.

If you belong to FMCA you might be able to save even more on the Michelin tires. They discount tires for your everyday vehicle now. I saved on a set of BF Goodrich tires for our Saturn Vue.
Good Luck,
