Toyo Tires - Not so good

I was running my Class A motorhome on TOYO LT235-85-R16 tires. All TOYO tires were Manufactured in 2013 and have approx. 20,000 miles on them. I constantly monitor tires with a TPMS device.
On the current 2000 mile trip, I had 1 tire (right inside dual shown on TPMS) lose air due to ply separation and a day later 1 tire (left inside dual, no TPMS indication) blow out. Of course, I ended up buying 4 new tires. I replaced my tag axle tires (Generals) last year and they have approx. 12000 miles on them. I have now rotated the remaining 2 TOYO tires from the steering axle to the tag axle.
I was told by two tire shops that TOYO tires have durability problems and they showed me that the two remaining TOYO tires, although presently roadworthy were beginning to cup, indicating possible future failure.
The end result of my experience is that the TOYO tires are junk. I have been monitoring with the TPMS and had no indication of air losses that would have contributed to failure until total air loss at time of failure.
My recommendation is to not buy TOYO tires for your motorhome.

When was the last time you weigh your coach?
What are your weight's on each tire? weight on each axle? What load range were the TOYO tires? What pressure were you running?

Most tire manufacturers and the RMA (ch 4), of which most tire mfgrs are members, state that over 90% of tire failures are the result of operating underinflated or overloaded. They also state to never run less air pressure than the tire placard in the vehicle.
If you do not know your actual MH weight, you should be running them at sidewall stated air pressure. Running tire at lower pressures to obtain a better ride is a misconception, and contributes to early tire failure.

I would like to know, since when did they start using R16 tires on an F53? The F53 that I owned used R19's?

Two things caught my eye...

1. 16" tires on a 36 foot motorhome.

2. Cupping is usually caused by bad alignment or steering mechanical parts.

This is the first time I've seen a post about Toyo tires being bad.

Same here. We had Toyo's on our first coach and the ride was bit hard BUT the condition and longevity was fine. I bet their still rolling, well maybe. They would be seven years old at this time. It's my understanding there basic use is in heavy trucking?

For those that question the use of 16's on a larger motorhome I'm attaching a picture of the inside drivers door of my 38 foot Mountain Aire. And, yes, I have the same Toyo LT235/85R-16s on my RV as the OP. Only difference is that I am very happy with mine, low road noise and great handling.

Your unit appears to be a tag axle unit, nicht wehr? That might be the reason. IMHO 16 inch tires on a large motor home would at least look a little strange.

We had Toyo's on our truck and got 80,000 out of them.

We have Toyo on our Dynasty, albiet much larger ones, and we are very pleased after 2.5 years.
I would also live to know if the OP has had the rig weighed and adjusted the PSI according to Toyo inflation chart.
