Now that I have began re-wring my battery compartment, I have a question.

Of the more that 15 wires that is now attached to the battery, not color coded or anything, so that being said, I have no real idea what they power, and how that circuit is fused.

So the question is, how do you trace wires from the battery back to the circuit, be it a fuse block or something else? I would like to be able to trace and identify the wires before I reinstall the batteries.

Being I am adding new fuse blocks I want to make sure I fuse the circuit the same was it is currently are.

I am doing this to clean it up and to make it more organizes and tidy, and I would prefer to label all circuit to what they power if possible.

I have one of those units, and I use it to track cable and telephone wires, I tried tracking with it before on the motorhome but I guess it low batteries may have been a problem and also I used both alligator clips and maybe that caused a problem, so I will go back and read the instruction again and see what happen, it is similar to the and a much smaller version of the tools [Tempo 402K CATV Toner & Tester Kit] I use to track irrigation wires problem so I understand the concept and principle, but there is a large difference of a 16 gauge wire and much smaller wire in a harness. I have started a post on my blog with the process, and will post it later if anyone has an interest in it.
