Troubleshooting a Norcold

I have a Norcold N811FLT. It worked fine last season on both gas and AC as far as I know.

I woke my toy hauler from it's winter slumber and the Norcold would trip the GFCI in my house on AC. Through the search button here and other places on the "innerweb of too much information", and the fact that it runs fine on gas, I decided it must be the heater element. Researched where it was and how to change it. It doesn't look like a bad job but I didn't get that far. I did find it and move it around possibly knocking off some corrosion and correcting an AC current leak as it no longer trips the GFCI.

Now I find my refrigerator is too cold and freezing items so I again hit the info super highway and have decided it must be the thermistor that has gone bad. Seeing as this hasn't yet "fixed itself" and does look a bit rusty I ordered a new one and will install ASAP.

Am I missing something trouble shooting and these two items could point to a bad power board or am I on the right track? Worst possible scenario would be the fridge all together quits on a race weekend and I am left with warm beer and spoiled food. Yes, that is BAD and needs to be avoided at all costs!

Thanks in advance.
Charlie

I think this service manual covers your Norcold N series refrigerator.

Thank you Ray. I was looking for a manual for my model but for some reason didn't find that page.
I got and installed the new thermistor. Tested the resistance of the old one and although it was working, it didn't seem to be accurate. Hope this stops my frozen food problem.

In addition to the temperature selector on the control panel, you may further change inside temperature by moving the thermister one fin at a time to the left for colder-this is the coarse setting, you fine tune the temperature by sliding the thermister [down for cooler-up for warmer(I think that's right)]
Or just buy a Dometic variable adjuster for your present thermister.
