TS Issac & Travel?

I've been stuck in the Port Arthur, TX area for days while Issac has been trashing the LA area. Does anyone have any current information on the east bound (destination central Florida) availability of fuel (diesel) along the I-10 & I-12 route? I know if I fuel up here I'm good for 500+ miles or so, but even after the next 72 hours I expect traffic snarls, debris, power outages, (& idiots out sightseeing) are going to eat up any reserve. I expect I'll need fuel somewhere around P-cola or Milton, FL. Finding a CG open after the storm, not to mention the pesky Holiday travelers, is another story all together.

If anyone has any info I will be most appreciative!

It should be good to go a day or so from now. Stay on I-10 until you come across I-12 at Baton Rouge. Then switch back to I-10 at Slidell. The power have been coming back on today and the crews are working around the clock. I would fuel up before you get to Baton Rouge if possible. Expect higher gas prices.

Here is a map showing everything in Louisiana. There could be a problem with I-12 tonight or tomorrow due to a possible dam breaking in Mississippi. If this does break flood waters could come across I-12 around the town of Robert.

Thanks. That map link is especially helpful.

The west bound truckers have been saying the I-10 / I 12 corridor is pretty much clean, just traffic and no fuel. Which was to be expected. I think waiting until Sunday or so before heading east may allow for improvements in power and fuel (despite the holiday) and once into the FL panhandle things should be a little better.

I really appreciate the ground truth from your point of view!
