TV Mount Problem
The Vizio 32" failed for the second time, I junked it and bought a Samsung. It requires M8 screws which are bigger than the slots in our wall mount plate. If it were holes, I would just drill them out, but I am not sure how best to widen the 4 one inch slots.

You could make a template using a piece of paper on the back of the TV to get the position of the holes and then tape it to the wall mount in the correct position and drill the holes. This option would not let it move.
You would have to remove mount from wall and then use a side grinder to enlarge the entire slot on the mount, could get messy

That would make me wonder if the mount is rated for the TV you are trying to use!

Good point Joe
It also reminds me that the first flat screen I mounted in the coach was a Sony and it was heavy. The bouncing of the RV caused the mount built into the back of the TV to fail (the mount did not fail). I noticed the TV hanging a little lower then in the past and when I tipped it up and found the whole back of the TV cracking apart. I had to reinforce the support of the TV by using a piece of metal top to bottom connected to the mount.
How heavy is the new TV compared to the previous TV's and what is the rating of the mount. While traveling does the TV bounce noticeably?

The Samsung weighs about 1/3 of the Vizio. I've now got holes the bolts can go through but couldn't get them to thread. I got 100 threads but wonder if 120 is what is required. Manual only says M8 but not length or thread.

Don't know what type thread it is, but that's obviously the problem.

The threads are probably metric (M8) I know from my experience with computer monitors that all have been metric.

Got it! The M8 (metric) bolts needed to be 1.25 (coarse) instead of the 1.00 (fine) that I had. The job is complete.
