I have used a u-haul a few times, behind my TC and the MH.

I think the only reason they say its not recommended behind an RV is due to liability issues.... In the CYA society, I surprised its not a lot more wide spread....

Nice MG GT. I remember one year when they stuffed a A-H 6 cylinder in the engine compartment. Had a problem with hot feet. Sorry about the "side comment."

I was once the manager at a large UHaul place, and at that time the recommendation was based on the fact that UHaul used an off-sized ball and if I remember it, the ball was two and an eighth inches.

That means that the coupler would be slightly larger than a two inch ball used on the RV, hence the warning.

Not sure that is still the case, I was there in the late 1980's.

did it twice last year
the key was going in to the local lot and doing your reservation there so they can override the MH exclusion

i was told it was a CYA in case you showed up in a little bitty m/h not capable of towing more than 5k lbs

i had a pic of my m/h with me and they did an an override and let me pick up the trailer with my sons pickup and he towed it to the campground where we loaded up the edge for a trip home.

the only thing i didn't care for was the surge-brakes....but they worked well for our two 800 mile trips
we now have a auto hauler trailer.
