KOA

Been to lots of KOA's and have never ran accross any as nice as the ones in the show, They should have shown Moab UT. now that would have been a little more of what I've seen and experienced

Actually it wasn't amusing ... It was enlightening and very good, every CEO should do this at least every two years. Definitely brought a tear to my eyes and a lump in my throat at the end.

Yes he gave her $50,000.00 and she quit KOA and opened up her own spa!

Check the credentials BEHIND the show...bet it's more of the brit's generalized run-down of their perceived american jerks doing worthless things badly, ie... GOLD RUSH, SWAMP PEOPLE, HOG CHASERS and that crapola.

Waste of time watching STAGED hoopla by Brir Sensationalism TV Gurus... EWWWWWW

Aw com on! It's entertainment. (The eye of the beholder.)

I guess the tears are brought on by someone fanning an onion nearby.

It was $25,000 not 50K

It is not the first time on that show that someone received a large sum of money and "moved on." Some of the shows the undercover boss has a stipulation on what the money could be used for. When there is no stipulation - well - "it" happens.

At least now I know a couple KOA's that I would not mind a visit to if need be.

Hey Wayne. There must have been an onion nearby you as it was 50,000.

Never seen a KOA that looked like the ones they showed. Even after seeing his great humanitarian effort, I'll only stay at a KOA only as a last resort.

He needs to get out and see the rest of the poor KOAs out there.

LOL they should have asked on a forum like this what campground to visit
I could have given them a batch of bad ones very easily.
American Value HAHAHAHA it's the most overpriced campground on the planet!

Should send him to devils tower to clean those showers. I have never seen so many bugs or human hair all over the walls and floors. Not just one, but the row of showers. Or Harpers ferry or Pigeon Forge, to deal with belligerent employees and a lesson on how to squeeze more RV's into the least amount of space. At pigeon forge, you too can have a 40 dollar site next to the stinky dumpster...
If you want a DELUXE rv site, you can have one for 85 a night and you get the deluxe metal table and fancy chimney style campfire unit.

In fact that is a common theme with KOA.. how do I put the maximum number of RV's in the least amount of space and to *____* with the customer.

Undercover Boss is staged anyway. Always the same plot with some tear jerking tossed in for added drama. I stopped watching that show after two episodes, but I did watch the KOA show.

How did he ever become an eagle scout when he has a tough time cleaning a grill with a brass wire brush?

That dirty rag reminded me of the KFC/Taco bell in Ellsworth Me where the employee dropped the rag on that disgusting floor and proceeded to pick it up and wipe the food prep area. We ran , not walked, for the door.

Simple word of caution and longevity... look around, watch how employees respond and carry out their daily tasks then ask yourself..."is this where I wanna stay, eat, or ???", if not then exercise a great American Freedom and walk away !

Nuff Said !

Oh darn! I was crying that KOA had a problem. I would have never thought. I missed the extra 25k.

I can't wait for my next KOA experience.

Now, let me clarify. If I'm on the road and there is a holiday coming up, I will see where I want to be and go to the KOA website. There, I'll put in my information. It will tell me what type of sites are available. Sometimes I'll do a satellite view. If it is even close to anything else I have stayed in and I need to be on the move for the holiday, I'll reserve it.

Then, I drive in, tell them who I am, and the hand me a package and direct me to my site.

So for all the naysayers, KOA has served it's purpose for me. I have been in some that were not that great, and I have been in some that were great (or near great). I have also been in ma-and-pop CG's that have not been that great and I have been in ma-and-pop CG's that have been great (or near great), and that goes just about for all the travel. I figure that if I need all the comforts of home, I'll stay home. I have all the comforts of a motorhome. I may not be as elaborate as some, but I'm also not as ....well I'm not.

We enjoy UCB and I record it to DVR and watch at our inconvenience just like a lot of other programs. Many of which some would not approve of. I never, never watch sitcoms. Canned laughter just rubs me wrong. I know when something is funny and when it is not and I don't need some producer/director trying to intimidate me.

So my point is - to each their own.

edited: p.s., no I don't consider UCB a sitcom, so there.

Double edit: Oh, and about once a year, since I don't stay that much at KOA's, but I do stay, I get a free campsite, or a considerably reduced campsite with the "rewards program." Works for me.

We don't watch the show much,,, but I was interested in this one. I missed the last part due to work... Guess I'll look on line to find it....
And the few KOA's we've stayed at were ok,,, like everything, some better / worse than others,,, and yes they are usually a little higher priced,,, but we won't avoid them if it suits our needs.

Don't be leaning over the keyboard. The end was a tear jerker. ;-)
