Start 65,140 mi Washington Wednesday
End 67,700 mi Virginia Saturday

2560 miles...
driving like a complete madman...
at never less than 10 over the limit...
Passing everything except the Hwy Patrol.

Knock wood… no problems but I did learn that my new glasses aren't s well fit to my eyes as the old ones which made night time driving harder until I switched back.

294 gallons = 8.7 MPG

why?

As the song goes: 'Did your baby call and said she needs you here?'

I did San Jose to NJ in 4.5 days in April and Yosemite to NJ in 3.5 days in July. Have one more Reno to NJ trip in September (but that will be in my son's Ford Ranger). No fun coming home but at least I was able to take my time on the way out.

Hopefully you can have a relaxing drive back to Washington! Be safe!
