If the seat back is uncomfortable or looks like it might rub while driving then I cut out some of the panel contoured to the seat back but that will be as an extreme last resort

It looks like it just clears, but if you sit in it, just the pressure of your back will probably be enough to push it to where it'll rub. Can you hinge that panel so it swings away? I'd sure hate you to have to contour the edge to accommodate the seat back.

This is the one thing that when looking for a good touring coach, the non slide models have so much more leg room! Me being 6'3", I wanted leg room, and to be able to adjust the seat back to my preference!
Slides would be a must have if we ever do the full time thing though! I have seen some MH's that with the slide in, I could not even get in the drivers seat! Not all are like this, just a couple of them were, when i was looking!
Your trim work is looking great! Rail!

Normally I drive with the seat bottom more forward than shown in the picture which brings the seat back forward just a bit. The seat was staged in this position to take the picture and I wouldn't even sit on it standing still with it this close.
I have not done any measurements yet for moving the whole seat to the left but the thought is rolling around in my head. The panel is thin and sticks way out there so moving the seat to the left seems a viable option.
Thank you both for the thoughts.

I changed post #265 with more information which might better describe the thought process and procedure on connecting the panel.

Looks like a similar issue with the Canyon Star:

Same problem he cured his problem it seems by cutting the wall section out while I created my problem by putting in a larger piece of wood, that sounds like me create a problem to work on

This allows that top piece of plywood to act as a stabilizing factor, when you install the completed piece back in place.

For information purposes if you click the gray arrow in the quote it will take you to that post and its attached picture.

That's what keeps you out in the garage & out from underfoot from Cathy.
You sure wouldn't want to carve out that trim to fit the seat back. That wood is too nice. Hope you come up with a work-around. OR....move the seat way up & tell Cathy, she's now the driver

That would certainly keep it from breaking down on the road.

Looking at it very early yesterday AM the Velcro is not holding as good as I expected both mounting surfaces are very level and I pounded the two surfaces together to get them to seat but while it was just sitting there a gap developed over a big area big enough to slip a piece of paper between the two surfaces. I hate to think what would happen with driving stresses introduced to them.
So I guess that's a second reason to consider using hinges I kind of hate to think what the Velcro is going to be like to get off the adhesive seemed pretty sticky the wood surfaces were clean and the strips were rolled after being set in place and its two 2" strips side by side.

John
I just came across this thread and it was a great read. Congrats on the progress of personalizing your Coach. The thoughts and workmanship are great. I've done a ton of work on ours to make it more fitting to our likes while also getting all of the mechincals up to my liking. It's always good to see what others are doing. Thanks for posting!

Thank you for reading sometimes I can't leave well enough alone but like you there are just certain things I wanted and did not get and I don't envision ever buying an other one.
Your vintage Executive series is what I was originally looking for my first and only RV and no matter what I do to this one it will never live up to yours. My wife picked this one out right off the bat when seeing it so I can live with it.

We have had out Exec for three years now and really enjoy it. The comfort and power are terrific. We were luck to get it from a friend but he was not mechanical at all so I had a lot of housekeeping to do and then dig into improvements such as hardwood floors, new tile backsplashes, removed the desk and put in a sleeper sofa, LED lighting under front two slides for starters.
Keep the progress going and enjoy getting out in your Coach
