URGENT electrical problems
We are on the road. Lost shore power and no power from generator. Is there
a circuit breaker and where is it located? We have a 2008 Alegro bus. Inverter is working. Please help! Wife not happy!

There will be a main breaker panel somewhere. I am not familiar with your coach so don't know physically where. If both genny and shore power provide no power to coach I would agree first check breakers. If only certain AC outlets are inop the may well be a tripped GFCI outlet.
The inverter is working, so the 12vdc side seems to be working - how about other 12vdc items, lights etc.?

Possibly your transfer switch has gone TU.
Your inverter does not go through your transfer switch.
Or you have two different problems that coincidentally happened at the same time.
Check circuit breakers on the generator, main house panels, etc.

My Onan 6.3 kw LP generator has 2 120 VAC, 30A, circuit breakers on the genset itself.
They are labeled "CB1-30A" and "CB2-30A", (and are located on the right hand side of my Onan).
When those CB are toggled toward you they are "TRIPPED"... (away from you they are "ON").

Hi Sparkee,
The only place shore and generator power com together is the transfer switch. From the transfer switch, power goes to the main breaker panel. If the main breaker panel breakers are okay, the transfer switch is a prime suspect.

Check your GFI Recepticals first, it may be that simple...Good luck...

Your Genny will have circuit breakers for 2 circuits. If they are off, simply flip them on. If already on, flip off and firmly back on for good measure. If still nothing, it's your transfer switch. Sometimes a good rap with a hammer will fix it, or switching between shore power and Genny. These of course are temp fixes and may not work. Otherwise you will have to switch it out, or if you're handy, you might get lucky cleaning the contacts if dirty or burnt.
