I've been told (but can't confirm) that it's not legal to have a true RV in Hawaii. I do know that there two Airstream trailers on the island of Oahu. They were purchased by the state and later auction off. A gentleman I use to work with purchased one of them. This particular one is 36' and one of the Norman Rockwell limited editions units. By the way, that Norman Rockwell and the mural on the outside of it are in mint condition! She's now stored in a building so it we'll stay in that condition.

I think I also saw a class A belonging to either the police or the emergency service department meaning it's state owned not privately owned.

I have however seen a couple trunk camper toppers. I guess you can count them and that would make me mistaken!

To each his own. For us, the map doesn't necessarily mean we spent the night there or left tourist dollars. For my wife, it would be quilt shops or shows visited; for me, BBQ comps where I've judged. This could explain why, on some maps, the states marked aren't always connected.

Any state we drive the rv or toad through while on vacation, the kids love marking off the states too much for me to add any restrictions.

It is up to the individual on what they want they're map to represent. Our's represent the states we have stayed in our RV overnight. Each year we leave Iowa and head to Mississippi for a month then over to Texas for a month. That's why Louisiana and Arkansas are blank (map at left), we always drive across them without staying overnight. It's up to you.....

Removing a map from the side of the coach

On a related note, we assume this thread concerns the maps that you affix to the coach, such as the rear or on a slide out. If so, the install instructions said that the map is permanent which prompts the question, has anyone tried to remove a map from the side of their RV? If you have, how did you do it? Does it damage the paint?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Regards,
OWV, Our Wandering View
