Use Motorhome to air tires up

Just wondering if anybody with diesels use on board compressed air to air tires up, or can it be done.

Why not? Mine came with a air coupler just for that reason I guess. Just buy a hose and go to it. Jim

We use our coach air all the time for many uses including airing the tires.

Yes, air system cuts out at 125 psi, most I ever inflate a rv tire is 110. Works good!

potentially there are 3 air fittings
One at the front of the coach to allow a tow truck to air up the brake system
One at the rear for an "airforce one" type towed braking system
The third is probably in a storage compartment for you to attach a hose to air up the tires.

In the Signature it is in the front drivers side bay.

Good luck finding yours - but I agree it works perfectly well

Moister in tires

When using the air from the on board compressor what about moister in the system going into your tire. You don’t want moister in the tires

Moisture in the tires is nothing compared to moisture in the braking system, especially if in below freezing temps. That is why newer rigs are equipped with an air dryer. That is the big discharge of air you hear as the compressor cuts out. Remember to drain the tanks, as even the best air dryer lets a little by.

The one at the front usually can't be used by the tow truck operator.
Most of them have a one way check valve to prevent air going into the tanks.

Tow operators usually use the one on a air dryer.

The only problem you are likely to have is when your tyres need 110psi and the rig pressure is 105psi and just sits there and the compressor takes ages until the compressor cuts back in. If that happens you can either waste some air, or have the copilot cycle the brake pedal to bleed enough air to get the compressor pumping again.
