Smile Utah National Parks

We are going to rent cars to view parks. We know we can rent in Kanab for Zion and Bryce. Then, Mohab for Arches and Canyonlands. Does this sound like a good plan? Suggestions?

Depending on from where you are coming you may also want to consider renting in Vegas and taking in Hoover Dam as well and then heading up to Zion. Another option may be in St. Georges, Utah as another spot to rent a car.

We did the "Great Circle" route a few years ago and it was one of the most spectacular trips we have ever taken. Our routing took us from Vegas to Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, Kodachrome Basin, Arches, Mesa Verde, and Grand Canyon. If you do get up to Capitol Reef make sure you stop at Cafe Diablo.

You'd probably get a better rate if you just rented once for your whole trip and from a bigger city. Usually the small towns will only have a few rentals.

Both Zion and Bryce have excellent, free shuttle bus systems. You don't really need a car in either of those two parks.

Joel is right. You only need a car for the Moab parks.
