I have State Farm on my MH and '07 Prius (currently in storage). I have used them for over 25 years and have always had good service. I currently have a $2,000 deductible on both vehicles and saved a ton on premiums. If you can afford to fix the little stuff yourself a high deductible quickly pays for itself.

My problem is so many lies have been spread on the internet on many issues, I don't know what to believe any more. My age doesn't help. But I am keeping my eye out for cheaper insurance since I don't get out in the MH very much. Most of the time it just sets in the drive.

We had State Farm for almost 25 years and then they decided they didn't want to sell auto insurance in California, unless you were willing to pay extra, we went with the Auto Club which is a non-profit insurance company. They gave us a great price on our cars and home, but didn't initially insure motor homes. We went with Progressive whose rates were the most competive. They went up a little each year and then rocketed up $300.00 in our fifth year. We dumped them and found that the Auto Club would now insure our motor home. Their price was half what Progressive wanted. They didn't offer the shrinking deductibles, but my savings were more than the deductible.

I remember when most companies had an agent that you dealt with for years, usualy until they retired. Most companies don't do that anymore. I learned years ago that the insurance companies are not going to show any loyalty to you, so I don't show any to them. If the prices go up, I go shopping.

I dropped Progressive a couple years ago after their rates skyrocked and we switched to Good Sam which is GMAC. Well let me tell you after one year of absolute hell with GMAC I switched to Allstate. I was with progressive for 12 years and value a customer and provider relationship so this was a big move for me. GMAC had the absolute worst customer service I ever had seen and I'm 57 years olds. Off shore customer service reps (I believe India). They boggled up every single transaction and it took email after email and fax after fax to prove I was correct. They are really screwed up !!!! (my opinion of course)

No loyalty to any insurance co. Whoever has the cheapest rates for the same coverage gets my vote. If you mention claims and they stutter, I vote them out.

So what is it you don't like about Mr Lewis? The fact that he's a patron of the arts? or frequently donates money to charities? or that although Lewis often gives substantial gifts to artistic and educational organizations, he also has a reputation for insisting that such organizations be financially accountable and financially sound? or that Lewis is an advocate of taxing and regulating the use and sale of pot? or is this all about moveon.org?

The quote was almost $400. I told them to cancel the claim (as they said I could). What they didn't say was that I lost the reducing deductible and my rates went up. When I went shopping for other companies Progressive told them that there was a claim on my record of $0 to $1000. They didn't bother to say it was 0. When I found out I contacted the State Insurance Comm., they said it was legal but certainly not ethical.
If you call your insurance company and just inquire if such and such is covered, your rates are more than likely to go up.

I was asked to send pictures of my house to AmFam and my house insurance went up over 50%. The Dwelling Limits went up $60,000 and the premium went up $238 a year. In the two previous years, it only went up ~5%. I can buy houses just down the street for 1/3 the amount I'm covered for today.

Lewis is a big bud of George Soros, that's all I need to know.
