I know what you are saying, but just think about it. How often is the water in your heater actually not hot?

From Wikipedia: A ladder is a vertical or inclined set of rungs or steps.

Francesca

P.S.
The difference was fixed in my mind by the terrifying short story "The Vertical Ladder" by William Samson .!

That's good to know that you aren't driving around with a broken short story stuck in your mind.

It's about a guy stuck on a dead-vertical ladder w-a-a-a-a-y up on a water tower.

There's no way to "rest" on a ladder like that- you have to work at staying on it all the time...
And both hands are required to move up or down one...
If there's any up or down to go to!

You wouldn't catch me up there.
