Does the house/coach have its own vin number separate from the chasis vin number?

imgine it would depend on the manufacturer, but my knight, and a 88 fleetwood pace arrow I had, both did.
Monaco tracks my coach by the last 6 of the vin, all they ever want when i call.
Fleetwood wanted thier number, not the vin.

On our Dutch Star they have a unit number for the house and Spartan uses the last 6 digits of the VIN when I call them.

It would be helpful to know the make/model and year of your coach.

OK, I don't know about Winnebagos. Since your RV is a recent model, you can probably call Winnebago's Customer Support and find out. I'm sure they can x-ref your VIN.

My 2008 Winnebago Destination has a VIN#, a coach SER#, and a Cummins SER#. that should be in your data package package, and as stated, Winnebago should have all that information recorded. Get the numbers and write them down in your manual. You'll need them.

NO! There is only one VIN on a vehicle - the chassis VIN in the case of a motorhome. By federal law there can be only one VIN on a vehicle.
The "house" may have another ID number assigned by the manufacturers, but it is not a VIN ("VIN" has a specific legal meaning). For example, Fleetwood coaches have an FIN (Fleetwood Identity Number). Winnebagos have a serial number, etc.
And the engine will have its own serial number, whether gas or diesel. Those are not a "VIN" either.

Look for the little brass tag form RVIA, often found near the coach door. On this tag you should find your coach number.

Agree.
On my coach, there are several metal silver tags scattered around they all have the Spartan name and list the VIN. Fleetwood, AC and Spartan all refer to that number when answering any question about the coach.
Spartan builds the coach, puts the VIN on it and ships it to the coach buider who mates the coach to the chassis...the VIN does not change.

Oh! And don't forget, Allison has their own serial number also.
And also all the other appliances, generator, inverter/converter, etc. It is not a bad idea to write the all down or put them in a spreadsheet somewhere.
Happy trails.

I have a VIN number only for the coach and freightliner chassis.
However when I call Monaco they want me to use a coach number that they assigned previously. Speeds up the process. It is not stamped on the MH.
Tranny and Engine are seperate issues.
