Personally, I don't recommend one, but f you frequently camp in places with low voltage they can be of help. My personal experience is that it simply is not that frequent of a problem, but your mileage may vary.

Older, 30A-only, campgrounds tend to have voltage problems, due to inadequate wiring in the entire park. If that's your environment, a Hughes Autoformer is the choice (in my opinion).

Hi kenscomet,
Are voltage regulators worth it,,,,you be they are. I got one about 18 months ago. It has saved me several times. It has more than paid for itself in that I have not lost a single appliance or capacitor since installing the unit. I also have a surge protector. The unit I have is by Surge Guard. Go to Surge Guard RV Voltage Regulators - Product - Camping World to read about it. My surge protector is also by surge guard. Go to Portable Surge Guard - Product - Camping World to read about it.

Unfortunately it is not only old CGs that have a voltage problem. Since installing the voltage regulator, I have had it jump in and save the day at brand name RV "Resort" properties where one pays a fortune for the best available resort experience. One never knows when the regulator will be needed. The circumstances change, but the need is there. Don't leave home without it.

Both are installed and kept in my electrical bay.
