Time to shut this one down. Enough has been said and repeated many times. The purpose has been achieved.

Geez, I hope not Wayne.
I think as long as folks read and post, (like you are) it should stick around.

I 'like' it!

Hey Batman, as long as you keep up the maintenance on the genny you can (and should) run it. I ran mine 24/7 last year while driving out to the National rally....I needed it to run the coaches 3 A/C units while driving to keep the coach cool, and of course I need the airs at night while parking (camping ) overnight at the Wally Worlds. .

If anybody gets bothered by you at a WM, they shouldn't have parked so close. Either that or it is the security guy on the under-powered three wheeler with nothing else to do.

We ran our generator to keep the AC going so we could sleep, when I opened the curtains the next morning there was a van parked about three feet from us directly in the path of the generator exhaust.... They were sleeping in their van with the windows open! As we set there having our breakfast they woke and started to "rearrange" the stuff in the van then all piled out and went in the store...

Some people just can't sleep without some kind of noise. Be it a fan or radio or noise machine. Me, I like it dead quiet. To park 3' from an exhaust? You can't fix stupid.

The generators are designed to be run, not to sit. Running the generator under load is good for them. In an extreme case, we traveled to the New Orleans area after Katrina to help with satellite internet connections. Campgrounds were scarce and undering one period our generator ran for 9 days 24/7 with only a brief shutdown every other day or so to check the oil.
