Full time RV' couple actually purchase booklets telling which Wally World allows parking and maps of their locations and selling gas/diesel or not. Some are not the easiest to get into w/toad. We also have our 2 slide outs on the drivers side so we turn the rig around w/drivers side facing the grassed area. No jacks, chairs, awnings etc. Purchases are made and sometimes contact w/employees. Only time we have been asked to leave was WW had arranged with contractors to paint all the stripes.

The article below was what I was talking about. It is about 3 years old.

Rumor: Sprint Working with Walmart on WiMax Build OutAndroidGuys

There is an interesting video graphic showing the growth of Wal-Mart stores at the bottom.

On topic

I hate to get back on topic. The tangents of this thread lead to some interesting topics. I suspect that a lot of people onthis thread just like messing with people. I hope people are just messing with us and they wouldn't overly abuse the priivelege of staying at WM. I also suspect a lot of people on this thread have NEVER overnighted at WM. Most of my posts are made from my basement man cave. Thursday I will try to remember to take a photo of the MH, awning, chairs, BBQ. The kids going from RV to RV (or car to car) begging for Deseil money, and me throwing the chicken bones out of the RV window. Just kidding!!!!!!

I am heading from St. Louis to Sleeping Bear Dunes on Thursday. We suspect that we will get most of the way there but not all the way. Any good WM between St, Joseph and Muskoegon. We have a reservations at a... well, you know. I dont' want to use that word on this thread.

Anybody live or spend a lot of time around there. What's the weather like at night. If I have to run the Gen and AC all night, I might as well stay at a CG (EW! - Sorry i used that word).

Anybody on this thread going to the Rally in Sept? I'd like to meet some of the people I have been corresponding with for the past year. And punch a few in ther nose. Just kidding again. Play nice kiddies. Life is too short. I swear, next trip I am going to try a Target or a Home Depot. Any other recommendations?

It is plainly obvious from the multiple pages of responces that some agree and some do not think staying over night at Wal Mart is acceptable. The fact is we do not have to answer to anyone what we do regarding this issue. We have stayed at WM on several occations for several reasons thats not important. We always ask, we always shop there, we always park so not to block anyone or be blocked in. We always get out and stretch our legs take a walk and along the way pick up trash as well as collect shopping carts left in the lot and return them to the proper place. Weather anyone agrees with this practice is really of no concern to me.

Here in WA where I live it is illegal to use someone else's Internet connection without their permission. It's called "Theft of Services".

Ok I have learned my lesson. I now see what such antics can cause. I was only jerking your chains. I would never think of doing any of that.

My one complaint with most WM's is they don't have handicapped parking long enough for our rig close to the door!
I have seen truck/RV parking in some WM's parking lots too.
Even some rest areas on the freeway have handicapped RV parking spots.

Alexander Smith of Vancouver, Washington, had a habit of parking in front of the Brewed Awakenings coffee shop with his laptop. Smith was warned by the local police, but nonetheless returned to the scene of the wifi crime. Smith was arrested and charged with "theft of services."
Only case I can find and it sounds like this guy was pretty dumb. I think doing it inside coach in a Wal-Mart parking lot is pretty hard to find and most jurisdictions would not bother unless blatant and habitual like this guy. I have done it in Washington State myself. Opppps. He should have gone to McDonald's, gotten a senior coffee and stay all day. Get the seat next to an electrical outlet. I think that happens all the time.

Theres is group A who likes to park their RV at walmart with slides, awning and lawn chairs out with permission from Walmart. Then there is group B who likes to park at Walmart with slides, awning, and chairs in also with Walmarts permission who feel that group A should be more like group B or else they might lose their parking privilege. Group A feels that group B is trying to take there privilege away in order that group B keeps there privilege and round round she goes.....

Which group are you in?

I keep reading this thread because occasionally someone will post their actual "experiences" overnighting at WM. The crazy guy in the next RV that keeps yelling at his wife. The lady walking her dog but looks around after he did his business to see if anyone else is watching and maybe she won't have to clean up after him. Stuff like that. I guess I lead a boring life!

Yes, I find the slides out or not, jacks down or not, chairs out or not, awnings or not, interesting, also. We all seem to have our own definition of what's appropriate. For me, jacks down, slides out, nothing else.

Then there are the ones that like to say they arrived at 10pm and left at 6am after spending x amount of dollars as their way of saying thanks to WM.

It's all just interesting and I will just keep reading as long as others keep posting.

IMO , I think Walmart wants business from group A and B. If they cared about what we do when parked there , I think they would let us know.
