Driving an RV or any other high aspect vehicle in high winds can be very dangerous. Even parking with your slides out can damage the slide toppers. I had one tear in KS a few years back.

Sorry, couldn't resist. We pay our dues down here in the summer so we have to enjoy these days.

I like the Wallygolfing idea though.... maybe breaking out the clubs should be put on the list with grills, patio mats and chairs?

I have stayed at the Elkhart Wal-Mart before. They have (or had) an large parking lot sweeper that sounds like a 747. Don't be alarmed by it. There are some great salvage places in Elkhart also. There is a Newmar factory tour about 20 miles South of there which is great. Good Luck

I wish this thread was closed. It's like flaunting a good thing, even making fun of it as if things will never change and "we'll always be able to stay at Wal Mart". The abusers will ruin it for all of us but they think they are justified by saying they spend more money in Wal Mart than they would have if they paid for a RV park so they are "Entitled". Nevermind that the reason they bought their goodies from Walmart is because they are the cheapest store around. Spend $100 at WM and what's WM's profit? about $1.00. What about all the people who spend $ at WM and have never camped in their parking lot. Does WM owe them a rebate?

Talking about a best kept secret, you people are bound and determined to ruin a good thing. It does'nt matter if Wal Mart "does'nt mind", Wal Mart does care if the town or the other 99.9% of their customers feel that their parking lot looks like a low life trailer park trash.

No wonder so many towns fight feverishly opposing a new Wal Mart. Maybe they don't want their neighborhood looking like a homeless shelter.
