Well Here I sit this morning drinking my coffee watching a great sunrise with my fellow Wally campers er I mean over overnight layover parking. We have have a regular rally going here in Shawnee Ok, must be about eight of us. Every thing from class A's to a pop up. Yep even some with Jacks down, slides out and with genny's running (how else am I going to have hot coffee).

In the winter Walmart should have a campfire in the garden shop. It will accomplish not only warmth for the plants but give RVers a place to congregate on the property and get to know each other! They could probably make some profit on the gram crackers, chocolate and marshmallows! If someone brings a guitar, we can all learn and sing the Walmart song!

We had the good fortune to see Todd Oliver, in person, while in Branson, MO. This was his newest performance and is now on You Tube.

We could all sit around that "campfar" and tell funnies.

It's fall and the RV's must be migrating. Last night, I counted 8 RVs roosting in the Wally World Overnight Parking Sanctuary. They ranged from a Class B (a rare sighting) up to the mega Class A's.

Festival of the Cranes
is Nov 16 - 21, 2010. signs are all over town. Must be getting to me!

OK I'll add to it.....
Talked to a good friend yesterday, traveled from Ohio to west coast, up to Canada and now returning via Texas. Told me he pulled into a WalMart in Az. A "greeter" was in the parking lot and directed him to a parking spot. After he got stopped the greeter came to his side window, Welcomed him to WalMart, told him to have a good evening, stay a coupla days if he wanted, and asked if he needed directions to his next destination. Needless to say he was shocked. I think I would be also.....

Being from California I sort of laughed at the people that camped at Wallyworld. But, having just made a trip down the east coast I soon realized that there are no other places to spend the night especially in or near large cities. From the midwest east into New England There are very few RV parks and fewer yet are ones that stay open after October 15th. I was superised by the lack of Campgrounds north of Florida.

RonK:
We have been told to say as long as we want in every Sam's club parking lot we have parked in. And several of the Wal-Mart ones... by the MANAGER.

Chuck 1935:
Really!! Have you not read any of the threads. That is what a lot of us have been saying! Personally I don't want to drive several miles out of my way just to find a place to sleep.

We just returned from an unplanned trip to Texas. We spent our nights at the Wal-Mart express for the convenience. When I got tired of driving I simply pushed the button programed on my GPS for Wal-Mart and pulled in at the next one along our route. Pushed a few more buttons and the jacks were down, slides were out , genny was running, and the satellite dish had my favorite show on the TV. We enjoyed a good meal had a nice nights sleep and were back on the road in the morning. I call it push button RV'ing.

Don't get me wrong. Campgrounds are great for camping but when I am just traveling from one place to another all I need to do is push buttons and drive.

Hi Chuck 1935,
Can you be more specific about the lack of CGs in North Florida? For me, there are many CG choices on all 3 of the Interstates. The primary Federal highways also have many CG choices.

I've noticed that a couple of links on this thread have already been repeated. So I apologize if this link has already been posted, but here it is anyway: RVers sue Walmart
