no way am I reading this all again, it's getting way way long.

You'd think the law of the wilderness is plenty good enough for private property being used without compensation. "Take only pictures, leave only footprints"

Only time I ever spent a night in a parking lot was a camping world. We (3 rigs, 10 people) left no sign of our presence, kept our slides in, setup nothing outside the rv's, and spent a couple grand when the store opened in the morning.

Still, if I ever really need it, I'd like it to be available.

Who does enforce common sense, anyway?

When I'm camped for the night in front of the loading dock I like to have the Campfire on the awning side. I also find that many Walmarts provide bundled paper for your campfires, which is another benifit to Walmart camping.

Saddens me when I made my post about speaking up and was rebuked for taking a stand... Maybe if we all simply cared as much in our actions as we appear to state in the threads !

I don't think anyone intentially rebuked you. We need more people like you that will help keep the uninformed aware of whats best for greater good.

I presume from the "smiley" that this post was sarcastic... Unfortunately, too many people probably believe it to be true.

I, for one, will be there knocking and becoming involved, be it a WalMart, State Park, Campground, or even a Rest Area... Hope you all would join me. In numbers we have a chance... as individuals we will only be one voice !
Ok should I bring a baseball bat in case they don't open the door when we knock?

Oh well, thats the way our country is now-a-days.... and how we got in the mess we're in...
You are right. You can't fix stupid so we who are courteous and respectful will have to pay for stupid. The sad thing is those who are stupid think they are cool and don't realize how they hurt others or don't really care.

Thats why it's important to let stupid people know whats right and whats wrong. They might not like it but who cares. Thats what has happened to the United States. Everybody trying to make everyone feel good about themselves. Turn the other cheek and you deserve to get kicked in the butt. It's time we grew some huevos and not let the creeps wreck this great nation of ours. If you feel that you must turn the other cheek, you are part of the problem. It's time to Man Up!!!!!!!

As a retired local Code Enforcement Officer I would lend this bit of information. If RV'ers make it appear to be a "campground" neighbors get concerned, then complain to local politicians who pass ordinances banning over night stays in parking lots. then you get a visit from local Police, pay fine, Residents are happy and RV'ers are in campground. Wal Mart does not care if you are their or not. Overnight in parking lots are a convenience and should not be abused.

Great post. It is amazing how many folks can't seem to grasp this. You are parking not camping. The few are ruining the privilege for all of us.

No, not well said at all. Common sense and courtesy do not simply self-propagate!
Some just need a hint, some need to be bashed upside the head, and sadly, some will never get it.

A few weeks ago when the snow melted, I started war with the lady in the office next door. It's an office condo, so we are all owners. The snow melted, and showed all the cigaratte buts she'd been tossing on the ground out front all winter. I called the lady who runs the condo board, a letter got passed around to all unit owners. Then the fun started. The association had all the butts picked up, and billed the 2 unit owners who smoke together in front of the building. Still didn't stop...

So as I'm leaving, I pick up all the butts and leave them in a pile in front of this womans office door. After a week, no more butts.
