We are currently in Vegas. We stay at my son's on a gated RV pad. A Walmart is 4 blocks from our site and we do shop there. I have noticed a class A parked in their lot now for 5 days. Is there any time limits? Although we have never stayed at one over night, I realize some day it might be our only option if local camps are full as we travel through. I'd sure hate to see this courtesy go away because of abusers.

We stayed at a Wal-Mart in Winter Haven, FL several nights ago and about 10 PM, I decided to hook up the toad as the weather was predicted to be bad the next morning and I'd rather not do it in the rain. We had a great, treed waterfront site next to the retention pond with birds and everything. The security guy came up and asked if there was a problem. He thought we were leaving because we were hooking up and he wanted to make sure everything was alright. Big talker and very nice. He wanted to be sure Wal-Mart hadn't done anything to make us leave that late at night.

Oh my god---you didn't did you?

You stayed at Wally World for more than one night. You are going straight to HELL! I hope you didn't put out your slide. I'm scared to think what terrible fate you will face for that.

How does "We stayed at a Wal-Mart in Winter Haven, FL several nights ago" refer to how long he stayed. The only thing I could get from the post is Lindsay hooked up before the weather set in so he could leave dry in the AM., and he had a chatty security guard. Seems he had a good stay at WM whether one night or a few. The topic makes for many good pro and con posts without stirring the pot and getting it closed.

From Walmart's web site, FAQ section:

-----------------------------------------

Q: Can I park my RV at a Walmart store?
A: While we do not offer electrical service or accommodations typically necessary for RV customers, Walmart values RV travelers and considers them among our best customers. Consequently, we do permit RV parking on our store lots as we are able. Permission to park is extended by individual store managers, based on availability of parking space and local laws. Please contact management in each store to ensure accommodations before parking your RV.

------------------------------------------

I'm going to guess that someone has already posted this. And, of course, the text is a tiny bit vague and doesn't say the word "overnight". But, when they go to the trouble to mention their lack of electrical service, I interpret that as meaning "parking for a while".

Whatever!

I've not yet done this since I'm now only 1 year into RV ownership. But, now I might!

Just got back from Leesburg Fl bikefest. You won't be parking in the Wal-mart there. Stopped in to get a TV cable on my bike and signs everywhere "No overnight parking!"
