I consider most Walmart parking areas as safe. My wife and I always look for Walmarts in areas that are well traveled at all times of the day. As well we try to find an area that is well lit. We have never had as much as a small problem during our stays. We have been Wally Docking for a lot of years. The only time we have had anybody come to our door was a fellow Wally Docker that I had noticed was having a minor mechanical problem next to us and wanted to see if I might have some tools that he did not. Since he was driving a Half million dollar motor home, I felt that he probably wasn't out on parole. We carry a cell phone / We have an alarm on our tow vehicle that can be activated from our RV . There are Walmarts that are in areas that it would not be a good Wally Docking area. WE AVOID THESE. I was told by a Walmart regional manager that the majority of the Walmarts that do not allow Wally Docking realize that they are located in areas where there could be problems and to dissuade overnight RV parker's for safety reasons do not allow it. As well many municipalities have enacted by laws to keep transients from using the parking lot as a long term camping area. Without a by law the local police would have no power to force the people to move on. In most cases, the local authorities will not ask Wally Dockers to move on if they are only there to grab a little rest for one night. If they do ask people to move on , they will normally explain that the area has some security issues and it would be safer to move down the road. We encountered this in Michigan and the police officer actually escorted us to another Walmart about five miles away that he felt would be better. How many people have had a problem? I believe it is very few. Although Walmart has their issues, they are good to us, and if we conduct ourselves properly and follow the Wally Docking code of ethics we will always be welcome to Wally Dock.

Speaking of Quartzite. Is there a Walmart there? Where do all the motorhomes park? I used to go there with my GF every year, but at the time, I wasn't concerned about RV parking.

They aren't lonely they are dizzy from going around in circles. When chickens go to WM they just get the run around!

Wi Fi signal stealing. How is that possible? What judge would throw you the keys to the jailhouse?

Looked the free water thread up. Francesca started but it's others that are keeping it active. Francesca hasn't been in the thread since September. Looks like her last post was on 12/30/11

Maybe it's time for Wi-Fi stealing to have it's own thread?

Wi-Fi Signal
A Wi-Fi signal that is generated by a establishment or business has a signal strength that includes a certain amount of distance from that place. They realize that their signal is able to be used by people other than their direct customers. I have often pulled into the parking area of these establishment with the sole purpose of using their signal to use my computer. Sometimes I go inside and grab a coffee or sometimes a meal. Sometimes I don't. I look at this as a company that is offering a community service, a little value added. I may not eat today. I may not shop today. But I will have this company high on my list of companies I want to do business with. They have provided me with a little extra, and for this I will buy their product or service when needed. This is not stealing!!
When they provide this service, they are offering it to the general area around their establishment knowing they are offering a free service. This service is provided to thank us for past business and future business. If this so called stealing is the worst thing we do in our lives, there just may be a just reward in the end.
GIVE IT A BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they didn't want you to use it they would put a password on it.

You could say "Stop at the next Walmart, Buy a rotisserie chicken, and spend the night".
Now there is nothing more to be said, after all this is the wally docking thread not the hot WiFi Thread.
