They probably could have built the store somewhere more accessible, but the profit potential might have been affected by .000000000001%
I would never blame the railroad or the engineer. Yes, the rails were there long before the WM and yes, I'm sure they took every penny of profit into account. If there is blame to be placed it would be with the city for issuing the pemits to build the shopping center. But, you can't blame them, either. Any tax base they can get will help. I'm really not blaming anyone. I just always say the reason I overnight at WM is because it's convenient. But, in this case you just have to be prepared for some inconvenience. I will most likely stop there again, but now I'll know and I was hoping to let others that might use this WM know they might be in for a wait.

Good job getting the thread rolling again, Red! I have downloaded that app and noticed right off the WM locator. Very handy, indeed!

I haven't had a chance to buy and try it yet, but I wonder if the All-Stays Walmart Locator App has an "RV friendly/Unfriendly" listing on it to help us avoid making unnecessary stops at Walmarts where overnighting is not allowed.

If you use the Walmart store locater website it will give you the location and phone number of all the Walmarts.

It will tell you if parking is available based on the previous experience of others

The Wal-Mart smart phone app has the store located by stay or not stay. They are different colors on the map. We always ask, but have never had it wrong yet. It also interacts with your GPS for distance and directions.,

There is a Cabela's near us and I was surprised to see they have a dump station in their back parking lot. Not sure if the similar Bass Pro Shops do the same?

If anybody is traveling south through the state of Maine, the Lewiston Ramada Inn has 20 RV parking spots with 30 amp service behind the hotel. They charge a modest $10.00 for parking and they have a very inexpensive dinner buffet and breakfast buffet. Great spot if traveling south for the winter. We often stay there when heading to NASCAR in Loudon, New Hampshire. Not in winter of course.

On another note, I saw a sign at the Walmart in Halifax, Nova Scotia this week stating "RV's WELCOME". I thought that you were not allowed to overnight on public lands or in parking lots in this province. I don't think it has ever been enforced.

Maybe the magic word in there is "Public". If Walmart owns/maintains their parking lot it technically would not be considered public would it? I think the public parking lots would be owned/maintained by the government.

I was at the WalMart in Douglas, Georgia this morning and there were a couple of class A's, a C, a truck slide in camper and a 5er that had overnited on the lot. I see rv'ers there every time I go there in the mornings. Based on that and the fact I spoke to the store manager, the Douglas Georgia store is good for overniters.
