Well with the car it sounds like you had a fun night of drinking and chalk that up to forgetfulness... as far as the RV is concerned... sounds like you were taking advantage.
Don't know about around there, but here, you have to get permission to park a vehicle with a for sale sign in a parking lot or the vehicle can be ticketed & towed without warning at the owners expense.

Many times when you get permission to overnight you are talking with an assistant assistant manager. The rule makers that two hoots talks about have taken all of this under study when developing the good neighbor policies. Too bad selfishness can ruin it for everybody.

I did get permission, and I did want to sell it, but I still needed a place to live.

I have stayed in a walmarts but did not put out the slides and well did not camp there.
O well just my two cents

If my bedroom slide is not out, my bed is about 4 ft long.

I think I need to go to a wally dockers anonymous meeting. I have a craving for a road trip and won't pass up a free nights stay at walmart.

Not to mention all the goodies that you will buy in the store when you go in to get a rotisserie chicken!

New Sign at Alabama Walmart
My sister in law who works at Walmart sent me this. Maybe the next sign they put up will be a notice that overnight parking is for one night.

Parked at a Walmart in Kingston, MA in 2010 when we bought the 2008 we now own for 4 nights with the blessing of the manager. There are no campgrounds close and no owner to bother Walmart about campers parking there IMO. We wanted to try dry camping we had never till then. 3 slides out again with blessing of the manager.

I didn't know I would be subject to "Inside the House" arrest if I camped at a Walmart.

Really need it at my Walmart. The other day a lady got in the express line with a basket full, I made a few comments and she totally ignored me. I asked the cashier why didn't she redirect her to the proper line. She said the Management told them not to do that and the only time they were suppose to turn them away is if customers complained. She said she didn't hear me. I bet if I had followed her out to the parking lot she was probably parked in Handicapped or Expectant Mothers slots.

I'm sensing a pattern here.
Update: We just returned from a 1600 mile trip and didn't stop at a single Walmart. Gasp.

When I was a kid cashier in a grocery store, I was working the '8 items or less' lane when a lady showed up with a full cart. I entered the first 8 items, hit total, and asked her to pay. She asked about the rest of the items in her cart, I told her the register was set up to only handle 8 items at a time. She went to another lane. The others in my lane laughed and went and told my manager what a great job I was doing. He had to agree, reluctantly.

With electronic registers it would be easy to program a cut off. How great would it be if the cheaters were told to go the the back of the line to check out the remaining items.
