Does that mean when I Park at Wal-Mart, I can not put out the mat for Atka?

I am truly sorry for your loss. We lost our Black Lab after 15 year just a bit ago. I didn't want to replace her but just a couple of months ago we go Winnie the black lab and she is a joy. Don't wait as long as I did. Your new permanent buddy will bring you joy and unconditional loyalty. Again, I am sorry for your loss.

Thanks for the kind words Cal. Our black Lab came on all our trips... he had a great life..... first trip.... pulling a tent pop up..... parked to go grab a bite to eat ( I think it may have been a Walmart parking lot)
left doggy in van...... with groceries after dinner all groceries were gone...... its almost been a year and I can say your advice is bang on....... it doesn't help to wait...... although we are doing this fostering program .......... it helps people and gives us our doggy fix......

I know this thread has gone to the dogs but I'm sure Sam Walton was a dog lover and would approve.

Gee, GTown, I just realized that since Walmart has just about everything, and since we can talk about all their good stuff, we can talk about everything - Ergo, we CAN'T go off topic!

How does your camping affect my life? Well it doesn't and is actually none of my business. So then why do I preach on how I feel you should camp? Good question. I should only express what I prefer to do without judging those who do differently. I do stay at Walmarts, I do use the slideouts, I have used a lawn chair and green turf for the dog to lie on while waiting for DW who is shopping.
Simple question to answer for me, maybe one out of 4 of the walmarts in route do I shop at, so, for the most part they're free, so it's a big budget boost for my travels. Right now, I've stayed somewhere around four nights at pay rv parks, and the rest has been in walmarts and two casinos that had free rv spots free electric, and in the case of last night free access to showers, laundry, bathrooms and the spa and pool at the casino hotel.

Use of walmarts has become especially regular on the current trip I'm on as I've discovered that a lot of the rest areas along the I-90 and US 14 & 16 do not allow overnight parking.
