No, not yet, though Denver is on my emergency route if it doesn't look like I can get through the I-80 pass going west, though I'm not certain how much better I'd be able to make it to Denver (I have some family there).

While we do not offer electrical service or accommodations typically necessary for RV customers, Walmart values RV travelers and considers them among our best customers. Consequently, we do permit RV parking on our store lots as we are able. Permission to park is extended by individual store managers, based on availability of parking space and local laws. Please contact management in each store to ensure accommodations before parking your RV.

I hope you were'nt just being a smart by calling it a "your great find"

Your link is is WMs official kindly corporate policy, no one store can overrule that policy unless they have problems and then they can get permission from corporate.
We all realize that when more and more stores report complaints from towns and /or other customers, those corporate policies can change, don't we?

Wal Mart buys property to build a store, the vocal people complain that they don't want WM, WM resells the property because they don't want to be where they are unwelcome. I've seen it happen and if you read , you've heard about it too. WM wants to be a good neighbor , but the town is more important than a few people who want to treat their parking lot like they own it.

are you going west or east?

I'm not familiar with I-80 but I work for C-DOT and when you come through, call me and I'll have a plow truck escort you across. Just kiddin, I can't do that; but ; I-70 is CDOTs top priority road, and they will have dozens and dozens of plows going to keep that road passable, but delays are possible at the wrong times. Quite a few rest stops on that road though, but be winterized.

PM me and I "might" share one of my favorite WMs on I-70, but I don't tell just any body about my best kept secrets

Well, I see the Wal*Mart "police" are out in force trying to tell people what they can and can't do on someone else's property. Now, if they own the property they have that right, but if they don't then it's none of their business.
Reminds me of the busybody neighbors that make what you do their business.

I'll be traveling west, it's an interstate I've driven many times in the past but this is the first time I'll be crossing this close to snow season.

If the road closes west of cheyenne, I may turn south to stay in Denver till they can reopen it as I have family there I can hole up with.

The main reason I'm taking 80 is that as far as I can recall it's a lower elevation interstate than 70.

I am not Wal Mart Police, do what ever you want, it sounds like you use WM more and appreciate them less than me, go ahead, you'll miss them more than I will.

I have traveled I80 west many times in the winter coming from Rochester MN to Ft. Collins CO. Iowa can be tricky and so can NE/WY. Watch the weather, seems the Des Moines west to Lincoln NE can become an ice rink if there is snow or rain/snow mix. This is pretty much the case all the the way to Cheynne. I25 South is good past the Cheyenne Ridge (about 15 miles south of the boarder). Going west of Cheyenne into UTAH can be tricky, especially around Larime. When Roads get closed around here it is always Wellington CO north on I25 and I80 at Cheyenne going west. It's always colder above us then I70 west. I70 is kept open pretty good, and they make that their number 1 priority in heavy storms. Remember out DIA is out on I70, and many of top hospitals are south of I70 and I225. If it were me, (I live here in Colorado) I would come as far as Cheyenne and go south and take 70 west up over Vail as it's warmer than Wyoming and Utah. But that's just me and my dislike for that ugly old man winter who tends to huff and puff and blow more north of us.

You have forgotten the "do gooders" that know what is best for the town pushing ordinances through for "the good" of the town. We are in what some would consider "the country". People that have moved to the area from our local city area want to improve "the country", because we do not know better. Contracted rubbish removal, by a national hauler, instead of the local competing 2 families. They got $10,000 for banning open burning of chemical treated products (if you spray your grass or trees with any chemicals that is chemically treated). 5 police vehicles for 2 on duty police..... glad we do not have a Wall Mart as I am sure they would ban overnight RV parking..... for the good of the township, of course. After all those RVers are....... trouble. I am waiting for the ban on parking a RV in your yard... for the good of the township!
For good or bad the point is you only know what they tell you for the reason for the parking ban, you have to dig to find the truth. It may be as it seams but it could also have been one person's crusade that ruins it for the masses.

No not those rules. There is no list of Walmart rules. For example if I go into Walmart and ask if I can use some items on my RV and they say yes, this trumps your FMCA rule book and is not anyone else's business unless of course I am breaking the law.

Obeying posted regulations, do not damage asphalt with jacks, don't litter, be safe and aware of your surroundings is simple common sense that most would agree with. You lose us when you try to push the awnings, slides, chairs and even BBQ.

Yes, I've stayed at both big name and small independent truck stops, however, not all have a place for RVs to park that doesn't deprive a trucker of a spot to sleep, so I usually leave the truck spots open for those that need it for their living, I'm tiny by comparison so there's more alternatives open to me that aren't open to a professional driver

Pretty much only the Flying Js have the Rv section however when thats full you can simply park in any car space which would easy for your unit and still ok for large units. Its on their website.
