Well, in Lake City it only applies to RV'ers and not truckers. The sign specifically states No RV Camping. I guess if the sign says No Overnight Parking, then it would apply to all. Enforced for truckers - probably not.

I stopped overnight at a Wally's World just to say it was done and that will be both times for me. First and last.

Wayne why was it your first and last?

As for the DW and I stopping at Walmart, we would stop to REST, no putting out the slide, no unhooking the fiver, no running a generator. We would look like we are PARKED. Like stopping at a Flying J, we would stay about four hours and then LEAVE.

I've already sent a letter to the mayor of Lake City expressing my disagreement with the city's policy. I also noted that 18 wheeler parking is not similarly restricted.

In & Out and E-Z RV campgrounds are definatly OFF my list of campgrounds to stay at. Their HIGH PRICES and ATTATUDES are the reason for this !!! Wal-Mart welcomes RV's there in Lake City,Fla. "But NO MORE" !!!

I've yet to see an 18 wheeler put out slides or setup camp. The majority of 18 wheelers stop late at night and are gone by morning.

Are they suppose to drive around all night just to wait until 7AM? Ah, now I guess we get to the differences in OP and "camping".

Their shopping.

First and Last what? Which Wayne.

Ooops, the sign also says "no sleeping," so be wary wary quiet! Keep eyes open, and don't snore.

Walmart is gong to loose some money in that area - but nothing that will hurt them.

Some campers have ruined the over night for the rest of us by using Walmarts and other businesses by using them for extended camping. In Plattsburgh N.Y., security caught a camper owner emptying his black water down the city runoff drain. Then their is the case of the rver who is suing walmart for an unsafe lot because he opened the door for an intruder. This lawsuit may not hold water. If I use a public parking area, I make it look like I am Parking even though I have asked permission. And I make sure the area where I parked is picked up of trash before I leave. Irover

I have got it all figured out. Just drop my bags in Room 105 at Holiday Inn Express, and forgo the depreciation on that high dollar MH that I wanted to buy.

Plus, we save $20 at least on the breakfast bar in the morning. That cuts the room charge quite a bit....

Last January We were headed East From Bakersfield Toward Needles; I had a couple suprises; #1 my awning blow up over the top of the motorhome; We stopped at a W/M To rewind it And give the spring 2 more turns;, I had the end off turning the end with a big bar. when the security guard came by and informed us we could NOT park in the lot. ; City ordinance; He said if anyone parks there W/M gets fined; After the third time he came By, I asked him to help me ;;( my wife was in the store shopping ) Hold the big bar, He left; Parked 2 rows over and watched us. When I was done the awning back up; He come over and we talked; He thought That it was in the making Of setting up a system to charge RVers and trucks To park there. . Now If any of you are business incleined, And open a Campground nearby, And your campground is Empty while the W/M lot has 10/20 RV in it You'll be the first to see that W/M starts charging. There is a lot of revanew lost including Taxes. State and federal; I think Before We make a desicion as weather to park free or not, We need to remember NOTHING is free. Some where someone has to pay for it. That big paved lot did not just happen; someone paid for it;. So lets not Feel that we have to get something for free;; We will all be much happier if we all pay for what we use; You don't pay for mine ; I don't pay for yours;; Life is good.
