Because everyone defines their own words!
I am not a lawyer, but I used to work with them , and one of the first things in a legal document is a section defining terms used in the document and pertaining only to the document. "Camping" would most likely be define in a 500 word paragraph! "Parking" would likely be just a long and contain a lot of the same language!
In an open forum such as this, you can only define terms for yourself, not for others. They just won't allow it, and, neither will you!
The current subject matter is remaining in your vehicle over night in a parking lot. Call it what you will, camping, parking, boondocking, loafing, surveillance, research, Wally Girl watching,... well, you get the point (I hope)!
For myself, if I "park" my RV and remain in overnight, I am camping just as much as if I were in a fancy "RV Park." It is all paved over, crowded, has bright lights, and near a highway, just like Wal-Mart!
Besides, I don't use hookups anyway, and the "Camp Store" is a lot better at Walley's!

Also, on other subjects we seem to claim that our RVs are motor vehicles when we're driving them down the road but when our jacks are down and slides are out it becomes our HOME and brings with it all the legal protections of being in our own home bring. That could lead one to equate jacks and slides with "camping". I'm just saying.....

Well, I just want to say that Wal-Marts generous hospitality has been a real help in my travels, and I hope they continue it! I've written them and said so in the past.
To tell the truth, it's become a tradition with my grandkids- the very last night of our annual summer trips must be spent at "Camp Wal-Mart". We're always very late heading home on our last day, and a Wal-Mart overnight followed by an early morning Grandma-the-sucker shopping spree is their expected Perfect Ending.
Get this- last year I actually pulled in and parked at 2 a.m. at the Wal-Mart in Poulsbo Washington- twenty miles from my own front door!
I think I'd have been "fired" if the greedy little angels had waked up in our driveway!

Neither of those constitutes "camping." it's an rv and when you ask to spend the night in an rv i'm sure management understands the vehicle will be used as an rv. I suppose different people have different ideas of what does constitute camping, but it seems management should be the final judge, dontcha think?

I still say that if you have your jacks down, slides out, AND are partying, it's camping.
I guess I'll stick the neck out and say if your jacks are down and your slides are out, partying or not, it's camping.
That is my story and I'm sticking with it no mater what anyone says.
Refrigerator level? Must be an old, old one. The newer ones are 6 degrees front to back and 3 degrees side to side, as you are standing in front of them. If you are in a Walmart with more than that pitch, find another spot for crying out loud.

Crap! I parked in a Wally world overnight, didn't put down the jacks, and left the slides in. However, I did partake in several scotches, due to the long drive, does this constitute partying?
I did leave early the next morning after 9 hours of sleep and a great breakfast. The DW takes great care of me.

Hey every body!
Don't forget to answer tha "Wal-Mart" parking poll somebody started here http://www.irv2.com/forums/f59/walma...oll-93291.html
Only about a hundred folks have checked in so far, but guess what?
(You are NOT going to believe this...)
Hardly anybody overnights at Wal-Mart just to save a buck!
Hurry on over and make yourselves heard!

No Jeff, that was parking. Same thing you did when you were in the back seat of your car in High School. Maybe just not in a Walmart.
Or was that partying?

Can you just imagine how much fun you could/would have had if you HAD a MH instead of your dad's car back in high school...
